Healthy Living Niagara is a partnership of community groups working together so people in Niagara can lead safe, healthy active lives and youth can flourish.
We are funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care's Healthy Communities Fund -- Partnership Stream to create policies that make it easier to be healthy.
In 2010, we were asked by the ministry to determine recommended local actions to address their priorities:
• physical activity, sport and recreation, • healthy eating, • tobacco use/exposure, • mental health promotion, • substance and alcohol misuse, and • injury prevention
These recommended actions will help the ministry decide which projects in Niagara they fund through the Healthy Communities Fund -- grant stream and which policies they fund through the partnership stream.
