Niagara Priorities

Creating a Healthier Niagara: Community Recommendations for Action  This six page fold out report provides information about the people who live in Niagara, highlights our plan for improving their health, and explains the process we used to create the plan.  It includes results of our community consultation for the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care's six priority areas:

• healthy eating                                  • physical activity, sport and recreation
• tobacco use/exposure                      • injury prevention
• substance and alcohol misuse          • mental health promotion

These local priorities will help the ministry decide which programs to fund under their grant stream and which policies to fund under their partnership stream. Details about the Ministry framework (English) Ministry framework (French)

Recommended Action Statements Summary (French)

Details about the process and rationale used to determine our Recommendations for Action can be found in the report we sumitted to the Ministry in February 2011 --   Niagara's Community Picture and Recommended Actions.
