3 Simple Home Remedies for Pain
With a growing trend of people looking for remedies in the kitchen for simple aches and pains instead of penciling in a visit to their physician, one might question the effectiveness of these cures.
One thing’s for sure: they do work, in some cases, as a temporary cure before you visit the doctor while in other cases, relieving the need for one in the first place.
#1: Headache
There are two options when it comes to a remedy for a headache and they are either using rosemary or ginger. For the first remedy, all you have to do is use one teaspoon of rosemary in a cup of hot water and steep it for 10 minutes. Strain it and then have a cup at least three times a day. As for the second, you can either grate fresh ginger, nosh Japanese pickled ginger, eat some crystallized ginger candy or even use powdered or fresh ginger when you cook.
#2: Sinus Pressure
For sinus pressure, the best cure is using thyme especially if the secretions are white or clear. All you need to do is steep 1-2 teaspoons of dried thyme in a cup of boiling water for about 10 minutes. Drink three times a day.
#3: Toothache
For toothaches, you can either use cloves or sesame seeds where the latter has almost seven pain-relieving compounds. For the first one, you can apply clove oil to the affected part. If you don’t have clove oil, put a piece of clove in mouth and move it to the area that hurts. As for sesame seeds, heat one part of sesame seeds with three parts of water. Once the resulting liquid has reduced by one-half in terms of volume, cool it, and apply to the affected area.
