Natural Remedies Used for Mole and Wart Removal

A mole is a very common skin abnormality that is normally dark in colouring, round or oval in shape and often slightly raised. Moles vary a lot in their size and shape from one individual to another. A mole is simply a collection of cells called melanocytes that are the cells responsible for skin pigmentation. When these cells group together in large enough numbers this is what’s known as a mole. Moles are very common and most people have around 10 to 50 on their body.

Warts are very different to moles in that they are caused by a virus, the human papillomavirus (HPV). Unlike moles, warts are skin coloured and quite rough, normally warts are raised but some can become smooth and flat, for example a plantar wart found on the sole of the foot. For the most part, warts can be found all over the body. It is normally recommended that warts be removed due to the fact they are highly contagious and easily spread to other parts of the body.

Natural Remedies for Removing Warts

Believe it or not, duct tape can be used to remove a wart. This is called duct tape occlusion therapy however this method can take up to several months to remove the wart. Other more unconventional methods range from the application of vinegar, tea tree oil, banana peel (covered by more duct tape!), dandelion oil and other strange and wonderful natural remedies that tend to work a treat. Castor oil is another simple removal remedy. Simply rub the castor oil onto the wart two or three times a day and cover with a bandage. Eventually you will begin to see the wart disappear.

Natural Remedies for Removing Moles

Strangely enough, potatoes are very good at removing moles. Place a small very thin piece of sliced potato onto the mole for a few minutes. If you repeat this everyday for several days the mole will begin to disappear. Another natural remedy is the use of the liquid extracted from a walnut shell. This method is slightly trickier as it does involve cutting a fresh walnut and extracting the juice yourself, but if you have the patience it is worth trying. Once the walnut juice is extracted from the walnut shell rub it onto the mole. This may cause a slight tingling sensation which is a good indication that the removal process is working well.
